EPILOGUE
Daniel
Chapters 7-12 foretell what will happen in The Time Of The END.
After
a careful study of Daniel Chapters 7-12, from the Amplified Version
I have written this
Epilogue.
It contains possible
conclusions one could derive from these Chapters of Daniel
That speak of The Time
Of The END;
The time I believe we a
living in; The Season Of The Last Generation.
I have placed it at the
front of the book for convenience of the reader.
Who
Goes Through The Great Tribulation?
One could conclude from
the Book of Daniel, alone,
That the whole of God's
Church, goes through The Great Tribulation.
One could conclude from
Jesus' parable of the Ten Virgins,
That one-half of the
Church of God goes through The Great Tribulation.
One could also conclude
from the parable of the Ten Virgins
That the whole Church
was asleep when the Bridegroom arrived.
Jesus also said, that
there will be a time when one will be taken and one remain.
This could imply that
one-half of the saints remain to endure The Great Tribulation.
I believe that He is
speaking of the of the time when the “Woman” of Rev. 12
Is taken into the
desert for the period of The Great Tribulation.
On can conclude from
the parable of the Wedding Banquet,
That those invited
refused their invitation.
This could refer to a
portion of the Church of God.
Some say that there are
approximately 2.1 billion Christians in the world today,
Approximately 600
million of whom are pentecostal/charismatic.
The potential
implications of these numbers are staggering.
The
“Woman” Of Revelation 12
Daniel does not speak
of the “Woman” of Revelation 12
Who is taken into the
desert and protected there by God
For the last three and
one-half years of “Time.”
Rapture?
There is no rapture
spoken of in the Book of Daniel.
Daniel 12:12, does
speak of those who live through The Great Tribulation.
I believe that these
are those of the “Woman” of Revelation 12.
The
Reveling Of The Antichrist
Today, and for some
time there has been much speculation
About the identity of
the Antichrist.
It seems to me that
this person will not be known until the Church of God
Is in its full
rebellion and apostasy;
And the whole world is
in complete religious, social, political and economic turmoil,
Which is a God allowed "test" for the Church of God, and the world
Brought about by the deception of the evil one.
Which is a God allowed "test" for the Church of God, and the world
Brought about by the deception of the evil one.
Then, God removes His
Holy Spirit; Then, the Antichrist is revealed.
Simultaneously, the
“Woman” of Revelation 12 is taken into the desert and safety.
It is very likely, that
at that time, Satan will enter into the Antichrist,
Like he did Judas,
before the betrayal of Christ Jesus,
With the eleven
disciples completely unaware of the situation.
Upon the reveling of
the Antichrist, and the setting up of his”image,”
The world believes,
that now, there will be be peace and safety;
It is at that time, God
begins The Great Tribulation.
The Coming Of The Lord
The Book of Daniel does
not specifically speak of the Battle of Armageddon.
It does not speak of
the second coming of the Lord, Jesus,
Unless it is when He
makes a covenant with the “many,” The Bride of Christ
At the beginning of the
last seven years of “Time”.
The apostle Paul
speaking to the Thessalonians says to them:
Brothers, we do not
want you to be ignorant about those who fall asleep,
Or to grieve like
the rest of men, who have no hope.
We believe that
Jesus died and rose again
And so we believe
that God will bring with Jesus those
Who have fallen
asleep in him.
According to the
Lord's own word, we tell you that we who are still alive,
Who are left till
the coming of the Lord,
Will certainly not
precede those who have fallen asleep.
For
the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command,
With
the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God.
And the dead in
Christ will rise first.
After that, we
who are still alive and are left
Will be caught up
with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air.
And so we will be
with the Lord forever.
Therefore encourage
each other with these words. (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18, NIV)
[This coming of the
Lord, spoken of here by Paul, is His second coming;
When He comes to The
Battle of Armageddon; at the end of The Great Tribulation
To destroy the
Antichrist and the armies of the world that have gather against Him.
All of the saints that
go through The Great Tribulation have been killed,
However, some saints
are still living on earth.
I believe they are
those of the “Woman” of Revelation 12,
Taken
into the desert and protected there by God.]
He Will Come Like A Thief In The Night!
He Will Come Like A Thief In The Night!
The apostle Paul goes
on to say:
Now brothers, about
times and dates we do not need to write to you,
For you know very
well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night.
While people are
saying, 'Peace and safety,'
Destruction will
come on them suddenly ,
As labor pains on a
pregnant woman, and they will not escape.
But
you, brothers, are not in darkness
So
that this day should surprise you like a thief.
You are all sons of
the light and sons of the day.
We do not belong to
the night or to the darkness.
So then, let us
not be like others, who are asleep,
But let us be
alert and self-controlled.
For those who sleep,
sleep at night, and those who get drunk, get drunk at night.
But since we belong
to the day, let us be self-controlled,
Putting on faith and
love as a breastplate, and the hope of salvation as a helmet.
For God did not
appoint us to suffer wrath
But to receive
salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Therefore encourage
one another and build each other up,
Just as in fact you
are doing. (1 Thessalonians 5:1-11, NIV)
[When the Antichrist
first comes to power
People will be saying
peace and safety at last;
All religious, social,
political and economic tension will be over;
They will all be
worshiping the one god, the Antichrist;
They will all be
embracing one social, political, and economic system.
Then to the dismay of
the world, the Lord begins His Great Tribulation.
Christians who love
God with all their heart, soul, mind and strength;
Who are filled with
His Spirit and allow Him to live in and through them
Will not suffer the
wrath of God.
I believe that these
are those who are taken into the desert
And protected there by
God.
This is the Lord coming
“like a thief in the night.”
However, we can see
from the Book of Daniel
That many Christians go
through the Great Tribulation.
The Christians that go
through The Great Tribulation
Are not living for God
as they should.]
The Condition Of The Church Of God
In The Time Of The END
It is the condition of the Church of God,
That brings about the taking away of the Holy Spirit;
The revealing of the Antichrist, and the discontinuance of the worship of God.
The Antichrist's power shall be mighty, but it will not be his own power
It will be by the power of the evil one, the devil, Satan.
The Antichrist shall corrupt and destroy the holy people—the people of the saints.
The host, the people of God and their strength
Are given into the hands of the Antichrist
Because of their transgression against God, their irreverence, ungodliness
And lack of piety.
The Antichrist is given this power by divine permission and for a time he prospers.
Daniel's description of the Church would coincide with Jesus' description:
That because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold,
And families and friends turn against each other over their relationship to Christ.
We can see today, the social, political, and economic unrest
That will bring all this about.
Under the deception of the evil one,
Christians will be the “scapegoat” for the worlds problems
Just as the Jews were the “scapegoat” in Germany in the time of Hitler,
A precursor to The Time of The END.
The United States Of America
If one believes, as I do, that we are near the end of “Time,”
Then it would seem obvious that the USA would play a role in it.
The USA is most likely the Babylon of the Book of Revelation,
Because “Babylon” must of necessity be the greatest of the nations;
The nation with the greatest influence over all the other nations.
The Condition Of The Church Of God
In The Time Of The END

From Daniel Chapter 7
verse 8:
I considered the
horns, and behold,
There
came up among them another horn, a little one,
Before
which three of the first horns were plucked up by the roots;
And
behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of a man,
And a mouth
speaking great things.
From Daniel Chapter 7
verse 20:
And concerning the
ten horns [representing kings] that were on its head,
And
the other horn which came up LATER
And
before which three of the horns fell,
The
horn which had eyes and a mouth that spoke great things, and which
looked greater than the others.
The USA came out of the
European nations, later.
In its beginning, it
was virtually insignificant.
Then, by the hand of
God
It defeated the
greatest nation on earth of that time, England.
Later the USA wared
against France and Spain and won.
Today the USA calls
itself the greatest nation on earth,
The only super power,
greater than all the other nations.
The USA also fits the
allegory of unfaithful Jerusalem of Ezekiel 16;
By the hand of God, the
USA was made great; the wealthiest nation on earth.
However, it then
trusted in its own beauty and became a prostitute.
It began to sacrifice
its own children to the idol of “self.”
The USA forgot that it
was God who brought it from nothing to its current state.
If the Time Of The END
is at hand,
The USA is the only
nation that fits the description of the “little horn” of Daniel
And Babylon of the Book
of Revelation.
It is also important
that the Lord warns His people to come out of Babylon;
Come out of her
religious, social, political and economic morass.
The
Precision Of God;
Those
Who Live Beyond The Great Tribulation
Daniel Chapter 12 Verse
12:
Blessed,
happy, fortunate, spiritually prosperous and to be envied
Is
he who waits expectantly and earnestly--
Who
endures without wavering beyond the period of tribulation--
And
comes to the thousand three hundred and thirty-five days!
[It is this precision
of God who has events down to the day
And in other instances
to the hour,
That makes me believe
that “Time” is also a precise measurement;
That God has allowed a
certain amount of “Time,” no more no less.
We know that the
Millennium is a thousand years,
A time of rest from the
period of sin that preceded it.
It is logical that six
thousand years would precede it;
Just as God created the
world in six days and rested on the seventh.
If this is the case, we
are near the end of “Time.”
I also believe that it
is this simple
Because God did not
intend that it be a mystery for His people.
It is noteworthy that
there are those
Who are blessed,
happy, fortunate, spiritually prosperous and to be envied,
Who wait expectantly
and earnestly--
Who endure without
wavering beyond the period of The Tribulation.
In my mind this
describes the “Woman” of Revelation 12
Who is protected by God
in the desert,
As they would be the
only saints still living on the earth.]
Daniel
Gives the Date of the Crucifixion of the Lord
It would be sixty two
weeks of years, 434 years
From the end of the 70
years of captivity and the command to rebuild Jerusalem,
Prophesied by Jeremiah,
until the crucifixion of the Messiah.
After this Jerusalem
and the temple would be destroyed (70 AD),
And wars and
desolations would follow until the end of “Time.”
The
Events Of The Last Seven Years Of “Time”
Daniel Chapter 9:27:
And he shall
enter into a strong and firm covenant with the many
For one week [seven
years];
And in the midst of
the week
He shall cause the
sacrifice and offering to cease
[For the remaining
three and one-half years];
And upon the wing or
pinnacle of abominations
(Shall come) one who
makes desolate;
Until the full
determined end is poured out on the desolator.
[For the last seven
years of “Time,”
Christ Jesus enters
into a strong covenant with His Bride,
The “Woman” of
Revelation 12.
For the first three and
one-half years She ministers in His fullness.
Then because of the
Rebellion/Apostasy, in God's Church
The Holy Spirit is
removed, the Antichrist is revealed,
At the same time, the
“Woman,” The Bride of Christ is taken into a desert place
And protected there for
three and one-half years; the time of The Great Tribulation.
Then the Antichrist
sets up his “image” in the church buildings of Christianity.
This is the abomination
that causes desolation,
The Antichrist forbids
the worship of God, and God begins The Great Tribulation,
Which culminates in The
Battle of Armageddon,
And the end of the
desolator, the Antichrist.
It is noteworthy that
Hitler placed his swastika
In every Christian
church building in Germany, defiling them all.
Hitler is a forerunner
of the Antichrist;
The Antichrist takes it
a step further, declaring himself to be god
And demanding that he
and his “image” be worshiped.]
Finally, The Saints Inherit The Kingdom Of God
Finally the Ancient of
Days, God Almighty, comes and renders His judgment
And His Kingdom is
given to His saints,
The saints of The Most
High God, and they possess it.
After The Battle of
Armageddon
The saints of the Most
High are given the Kingdom of God forever.
All remaining dominions
shall serve and obey God and His Christ, sinlessly,
For the thousand years
of the Millennium
After which all other
dominions are done away with
And there is only one
Kingdom remaining, the Kingdom of God.
From the Book of
Revelation
We know that the saints
include those who are killed for Christ
During The Great
Tribulation,
Because after His
second coming, they follow Christ Jesus day and night.
THE
TIME OF THE END
SEQUENCE OF EVENTS
The
Fourth Beast, the Roman Empire
Daniel is shown a
fourth kingdom, the Roman Empire,
That shall devour the
whole earth, tread it down, break it into pieces and crush it.
It is revealed with ten
horns. These ten horns are European nations.
The
angel tells Daniel
that the fourth beast is a fourth kingdom
That comes into being,
different than all the other kingdoms that have preceded it.
The
“Little Horn,” The Beast, The Antichrist
The
angel goes on to tell Daniel that out of the ten horns of the old
Roman Empire, Ten kings shall arise; And another king shall arise
after them,
And
he (the “little horn”) shall be different from the former
ones,
And
he shall subdue and put down three kings (of the ten).
Daniel is told that
from among the ten horns (kings) comes a “little one,”
Before which three of
the first horns were plucked up by the roots.
In this “little horn”
were eyes like the eyes of a man,
And a mouth speaking
great things.
The “little horn”
which came up later,
And before which three
of the tens horns fell,
Had eyes and a mouth
that spoke great things,
And which looked
greater than the other ten horns.
And he (the “little
horn”) shall speak words against the Most High God,
And shall wear out the
saints of the Most High God.
And think to change the
times of sacred feasts and holy days and the law;
For three and one-half
years; the time of The Great Tribulation.
As Daniel looks the
“little horn” makes war against the saints
And prevails over
them.
The
angel goes on to tell Daniel what will take place at The
Time of the END.
When transgression,
apostasy within the Church of God has reached its fullness, Their
wickedness, exceeding the limits of God's mercy,
A king (the “little
horn”), the Antichrist, of fierce countenance
And understanding
dark trickery and craftiness, shall stand up.
The Antichrist's power
shall be mighty,
But it will not be his
own power (but that of the evil one),
And he shall corrupt
and destroy astonishingly, and shall prosper,
And do his own
pleasure, and he shall corrupt and destroy the mighty men
And the holy
people—the people of the saints.
Through his policy, the
Antichrist, shall cause trickery to prosper in his hand;
He shall magnify
himself in his heart and mind,
And in their security
he will corrupt and destroy many.
He shall also stand up
against the Prince of princes (Christ Jesus),
But he shall be broken
and that by no human hand.
He will be destroyed by
the appearing of Christ Jesus at The Battle of Armageddon.
Judgment is determined
by the court of the Most High,
And they take away the
dominion of (the “little horn”);
They consume it
gradually as The Great Tribulation unfolds,
And finally, in the
end, suddenly, at The Battle of Armageddon,
The Most High destroys
the “little horn's” dominion completely.
Christ Jesus appears
and destroys the Antichrist (the “little horn”)
With the breath of His
mouth and the splendor of His appearing.
Because of the sound of
the great words which the horn was speaking,
Daniel watches until
the beast (the “little horn”) was slain
And its body destroyed
and given over to be burned with fire.
The
Actions Of The Antichrist During The Great Tribulation
From Daniel Chapter 11:

The armed forces of the Antichrist will appear in the Holy Land;
He will defile the
sanctuary of the Church of God;
He will take away all
worship of the God of Heaven;
He will set up in the
church buildings of Christianity his “image,”
Which is the
abomination that causes desolation.
(Again, it is notable
that Hitler placed his swastika in every German Church.)

The wicked followers of the Antichrist will corrupt with flattery
Those within the Church
of God who can be corrupted;
But those saints who
know their God shall be strong
And carry out great
exploits against the Antichrist and his regime.
33
Those of the saints who understand who the Antichrist is and what he
is doing, Shall instruct many as to how this all pertains to
Scripture;
Yet for many days they
shall fall by sword and flame, by captivity and plundering.
34
When the “instructors” fall, they shall be aided with a little
help;
But many shall pretend
to join them and actually be spies of the Antichrist.
35
Some of those who understand shall fall, to refine them, purify them,
And make them white,
until The Time Of The END.
These will be leaders
within the Church of God.
36
The Antichrist will do what ever he wishes;
He will exalt and
magnify himself above every god,
Shall speak blasphemies
against the God of Heaven;
Shall prosper till the
wrath has been accomplished;
Until The Great
Tribulation is concluded with the return of Christ Jesus
At The Battle Of
Armageddon, where he is finally defeated and killed.

The Antichrist will have no regard for the God of his fathers
Nor the one desired by
women (Christ), but will magnify himself above all.

In the place of God, the Antichrist will honor the god of fortress;
A god his fathers did
not know, with gold and silver, and with precious stones
And pleasant and
expensive things.
It seems to me that
this is a construction of his own making,
It could be the “image”
he sets up in the church buildings of Christianity.

The Antichrist will overcome the strongest fortresses
With the help of a
foreign god (or fallen angel).
40
At The Time Of The END, the king of the south, Egypt, will attack
him,
And at the same time
the king of the north, Russia, will attack him,
With a flood of men and
weapons.
This is the prelude to
The Battle Of Armageddon,
Where all the armies of
the world are gathered together against Christ Jesus.
41
The
Antichrist will enter into the land of Palestine and overthrow many,
But not Edom and Moab
and Ammon.
42
The Antichrist will conquer many countries including Egypt.
43
The Antichrist will take the treasures of all the countries he
conquers,
Including Libya and
Ethiopia.
44
Rumors from the east and from the north shall alarm him
And he shall go forth
with great fury and sweep many away.
45
The Antichrist will pitch his palatial tents between the seas
And the glorious holy
mount (Zion);
However he shall come
to his end with the coming of Christ Jesus
And none will help him.
The
Saints Of The Most High God Prevail
Finally the Ancient of
Days, God Almighty, comes and renders His judgment
And His Kingdom is
given to His saints,
The saints of The Most
High God, and they possess it.
After The Battle of
Armageddon
The saints of the Most
High are given the Kingdom of God forever.
All remaining dominions
shall serve and obey God and His Christ
For the thousand years
of the Millennium
After which all other
dominions are done away with
And there is only one
Kingdom remaining, the Kingdom of God.
The
Time Frame To The Crucifixion of Christ Jesus
And
To The END Of “Time”
Daniel is told that it
would be 490 years, when the Messiah
Would finish and put an
end to transgression; taking us to the END of “Time.”
Daniel is told that at
the end of the seventy years told to Jeremiah,
Jerusalem would be
rebuilt and the Anointed One, the Prince, the Messiah,
The Christ, would come.
Jerusalem would again
be rebuilt with city square and moat,
But in troubled times
(the Jews would be under Roman oppression).
Then in 70 AD the
Romans come and destroy Jerusalem and the Temple
In a flood of
devastation.
And from that time,
until the END of “Time”
There have been wars
and desolations to which history attests.
After sixty-two weeks
of years, the Anointed One, Christ, shall be cut off, killed,
And have nothing, with
no one belonging to and defending Him.
The Messiah would purge
away and make expiation and reconciliation for sin,
By His own shed blood,
for those who would put their faith, hope and trust in Him, The
Christ of God.
The measure of sin was
sealed up and made full for Israel and all mankind
When they crucified the
Christ of God;
It was the sins of all
mankind, past, present and future that crucified Him.
Those saints who would
receive Christ Jesus,
Putting their faith,
hope and trust in Him;
Allowing Him to live in
and through them;
Those saints would
enter into the everlasting righteousness of the Kingdom of God. When
Christ Jesus comes the second time He will seal up vision and
prophecy;
After being cut off, He
ascended into Heaven
There, He anointed the
Mercy Seat in Heaven with His own blood,
Thereby anointing the
Holy of Holies.
The last seven years,
of the 490 years told to Daniel, pertains to The END Of “Time.”
Seven years from the
END, The Anointed One, Christ Jesus,
Enters into a strong
and firm covenant with the “Woman” of Revelation 12.
For three and one-half
years she ministers in His fullness.
Then because of
Rebellion/Apostasy, in God's Church, the Holy Spirit is removed,
The Antichrist
revealed, and the “Woman” is taken into a desert place
And protected there for
three and one-half years,
The years of The Great
Tribulation,
Until Christ Jesus
returns at The Battle of Armageddon.
After the Holy Spirit
and the “Woman” are taken away,
The Antichrist sets up
his “image” in the church buildings of Christianity.
This is the abomination
that causes desolation.
The Antichrist forbids
the worship of God
And God begins The
Great Tribulation which culminates in The Battle of Armageddon And
the end of the desolator, the Antichrist.
The second coming of
Christ Jesus concludes the 490 years told to Daniel;
The sixty-two weeks of
years to the time He was crucified,
And the seven years,
from the confirming of the covenant with the “Woman,”
To the END of “Time.”
CHAPTER
12 Wraps Up Daniel's Vision
At The Time Of The END,
Michael,
The great angelic
prince who defends the nation Israel shall arise,
And there shall be a
time of trouble, straitness and distress,
Such as never was since
Israel was a nation till that time.
But at that time
Israel shall be delivered;
Everyone whose name
is found written in the book (the Book of LIFE).
This speaks of The
Great Tribulation.
Many of those who have
died and are buried shall awake,
Some to everlasting
LIFE and some to shame and everlasting contempt
And abhorrence.
During The Great
Tribulation there will be teachers
And those who are wise
who shall shine like the brightness of the firmament,
Turning many to
righteousness; to uprightness and right standing with God.
They will give forth
light like the stars for ever and ever.
Daniel is told to seal
the book until The Time Of The END.
At that time, many
shall run about searching anxiously through the Bible
For the knowledge
contained therein
Concerning God's plan and purposes revealed by His prophets.
Concerning God's plan and purposes revealed by His prophets.
As The Great
Tribulation commences,
Many shall open their
Bibles as they see events transpiring that are foretold in it. Those
who thought that the Book of Revelation was just an allegory
Will understand then,
that it is not, and seek to understand all that is occurring.
At the same time many
will understand before The Great Tribulation commences, What is about
to happen and warn God's people.
Daniel asks how long it
will be until the completion of all these events.
He is told that it will
be three and one-half years;
When the power of the
holy people has been shattered and crushed,
Then it will be
finished;
Then Christ Jesus will
come in the clouds to The Battle of Armageddon
And defeat the
Antichrist and all the armies of the world
Who have been gather to
the battle against Him.
This concludes the
history of mankind.
The story of the devil
who came to steal, kill and destroy;
The one who controls
this fallen world under the supervision of God the Father;
And the story of Christ
Jesus who came to destroy the work of the devil,
Which He accomplishes
completely at the END of “Time.”
SYNOPSIS

CHAPTER
7
7 After this
I saw in the night visions, and behold, a fourth beast,
Terrible, powerful
and dreadful, and exceedingly strong;
And it had great
iron teeth; it devoured and crushed,
And trampled what
was left with its feet.
And
it was different from all the beasts that came before it,
And it had ten
horns [Symbolizing ten kings]. Dan. 2:40-43; 7:23.]
8 I
considered the horns, and behold,
There
came up among them another horn, a little one,
Before
which three of the first horns were plucked up by the roots;

behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of a man,

The little horn could
be the United States of America
And the three first
horns that were plucked up by the roots,

11 I
looked then because of the sound
Of
the great words which the horn was speaking.
I
watched until the beast was slain and its body destroyed
And
given over to be burned with fire.
[This horn speaking
great words is the Antichrist, the Beast of Revelation,
Who is ultimately
destroyed in the Lake of Fire after The Battle Of Armageddon.]
20 And
concerning the ten horns [representing kings] that were on its head,
And
the other horn which came up later
And
before which three of the horns fell,
The
horn which had eyes and a mouth that spoke great things,
And
which looked greater than the others.
21 As I
looked, this horn made war with the saints and prevailed over them,
[Rev. 13:7-9.]
[This horn is the
Antichrist who makes war against the saints
As foretold in the Book
of Revelation.
This means that the
Antichrist comes from the “little horn,”
Which is most likely
the USA.]
22 Until the
Ancient of days came,
And judgment was
given to the saints of the Most High [God],
And the time came
when the saints possessed the kingdom.
23 Thus [the
angel] said, The fourth beast shall be a fourth kingdom on earth,
Which shall be
different from all other kingdoms,
And shall devour the
whole earth, tread it down and break it in pieces and crush it.
24 And as
for the ten horns, out of this kingdom ten kings shall arise;
And
another shall arise after them,
And
he shall be different from the former ones,
And
he shall subdue and put down three kings.
[The fourth beast would
be the Roman Empire,
And out of the Roman
Empire come the ten horns, the European nations,
And out of European
nations comes the USA, different from all the others,
Who puts down England,
France and Spain]
25 And he
shall speak words against the Most High [God],
And
shall wear out the saints of the Most High,
And
think to change the times [of sacred feasts and holy days] and the
law;
And
the saints shall be given into his hand
For
a time, two times and half a time [Three and one-half years].
[Rev. 13:1-6]
[This little horn, the
Antichrist, will speak against the Most High God,
And wear out the saints
of the Most High,
And think to change the
times of sacred feasts and holy days and the law.
(Which is something
that happens, once the Antichrist is revealed.)
And the saints are
given into his (the Antichrist's) hand
For three and one-half
years.]
26 But the
judgment shall be set [by the court of the Most High],
And they shall take
away his dominion, to consume it [gradually]
And to destroy it
[suddenly] in the end.
[The kingdom of the
Antichrist is consumed
Over the three and
one-half years of The Great Tribulation
At The Battle of
Armageddon, the Antichrist is killed, and his dominion destroyed.]
27 And the
kingdom and the dominion
And the greatness of
the kingdom under the whole heavens
Shall be given to
the people of the saints of the Most High;
His kingdom is an
everlasting kingdom,
And all the
dominions shall serve and obey Him.
[In the END The
saints of the Most High shall inherit His Kingdom.]
CHAPTER
8
9 Out from
littleness and small beginnings one of them came forth
[Antiochus
Epiphanes], a horn whose [impious presumption and pride]
Grew exceedingly
great toward the south and toward the east
And toward the
ornament—the precious, blessed land of Israel. [Verse 23.]
10 And [in my
vision] this horn grew great, even against the host of heaven
[God's true people,
the saints], and some of the host and of the stars [priests]
It cast down to the
ground and trampled on them.
[This horn foreshadows
the final “little horn,” the Antichrist of Revelation,
And the
Rebellion/Apostasy that precedes his appearance,
We can expect some of
the host (people of God) and of the stars (Christian leaders)
To be cast down to the
ground and trampled on.]
11 Yes, [this
horn] magnified itself,
Even [matching
itself] against the Prince of the host [of heaven];
And from Him the
continual burnt offering was taken away,
And the place of
God's sanctuary was cast down and profaned.
[The Antichrist of
Revelation matches himself against Christ Jesus
And because of the
Rebellion/Apostasy in the Church of God
That precedes his
appearance,
He is allowed to take
away worship of God
And
the place of God's sanctuary is cast down and profaned.]
12 And the
host [the chosen people] and strength were given to [the wicked horn]
Together with the
continual burnt offering,
Because of the
transgression [of God's people]--
Their abounding
irreverence, ungodliness and lack of piety.
And righteousness
and truth were cast down to the ground,
And [the wicked
horn] accomplished this [by divine permission] and prospered.
[The host, the people
of God and their strength
Are given into the
hands of the Antichrist
Because of their
transgression against God,
Their irreverence,
ungodliness and lack of piety.
Righteousness and truth
are thrown to the ground.
The Antichrist is given
this power by divine permission and for a time he prospers.]
13 Then I
heard a holy one speaking,
And another holy one
said to the one that spoke,
For how long is the
vision concerning the continual offering,
The transgression
that makes desolate,
And the giving over
of both the sanctuary and the host [of the people]
To be trampled under
foot? [Luke 21:24.]
14 And he
said to him and to me,
For two thousand and
three hundred evenings and mornings;
Then the sanctuary
shall be cleansed and restored.
[For three and one-half
years the worship of God is forbidden
And the people of God
are trampled under foot;
The three and one-half
years of The Great Tribulation.
However, at the end of
the three and one-half years
The sanctuary is
cleansed and restored.
From verse 9 on, Daniel
may well be speaking of the USA and the Antichrist.
The USA was born out of
small beginnings;
It has grown great in
its influence in the Middle East, in and around Israel.
Ungodliness in the USA
is very great
And as a nation has
been continually,
And increasingly
against the Christian faith and its precepts.
The stress of this
assault on Christianity may well cause some of its leaders to fall
And to be trampled upon
as it was in Germany under Hitler.
Additionally the
Christian faith is marked by transgression against God,
Irreverence,
ungodliness and lack of piety.
When the Antichrist is
revealed and the Holy Spirit removed
The Antichrist sets up
his “image” in the church buildings of Christianity
And puts and end to the
worship of Christ Jesus.
This casts down and
profanes all that Christ Jesus stands for.
However, at the end of
the three and one-half years,
When the last of the
saints to be killed are killed,
The sanctuary of God is
cleansed and restored.]
15 When I,
even I, Daniel, had seen the vision, I sought to understand it;
Then behold, there
stood before me one [Gabriel] with the appearance of a man.
16 And I
heard a man's voice between the banks of the river Ulai,
Which called and
said, Gabriel, make this man [Daniel] understand the vision.
[Dan. 9:21; Luke
1:19, 26.]
17 So he came
near where I stood,
And when he came, I
was frightened and fell on my face.
But he said to me,
Understand, O son of man;
For the [fulfillment
of the ] vision belongs to [events that shall occur in]
The
time of the end.
18 Now as he
[Gabriel] was speaking with me,
I fell stunned and
in deep unconsciousness with my face to the ground;
But he touched me
and set me upright—where I had stood.
19 And he
said, Behold, I will make you know what shall be in the latter time
Of the indignation
[of God upon the ungodly];
For it has to do
with the time of the end.
23 And at
the latter end of their kingdom,
When
the transgressors [the apostate Jews] (and
apostate Christians)
Have
reached the fullness
[Of
their wickedness, exceeding the limits of God's mercy],
A
king of fierce countenance
And
understanding dark trickery and craftiness, shall stand up.
24 And his
power shall be mighty, but not by his own power;
And
he shall corrupt and destroy astonishingly,
And
shall prosper, and do his own pleasure,
And
he shall corrupt and destroy the mighty men and the holy people—
The people of the
saints. [Rev. 13:4-10; Dan. 8:9-12, 2 Thess. 2:3-10.]
25 And
through his policy he shall cause trickery to prosper in his hand;
He
shall magnify himself in his heart and mind,
And
in their security he will corrupt and destroy many.
He
shall also stand up against the Prince of princes,
But he shall be
broken and that by no [human] hand. [Rev.
19:19, 20.]
[Beginning in verse 23,
through verse 25,
I believe Daniel is
speaking of The Time Of The End.
The king of fierce
countenance and understanding dark trickery and craftiness,
Is the Antichrist, who
comes to power by the power of the devil.
He corrupts and
destroys mighty men and the saints of God.
He stands against
Christ Jesus
But is brought to and
end at The Battle Of Armageddon, not by human hand.]
26 The vision
of the evenings and the mornings which has been told you is true.
But seal up the
vision, for it has to do with and belongs to the now distant future.
27 And I,
Daniel, fainted and was sick certain days;
Afterward I rose up
and did the king's business;
And I wondered at
the vision,
But there was no one
who understood it or could make it understood.
CHAPTER
9
(This is the angel
Gabriel speaking to Daniel)
23 At the
beginning of your prayers the word went forth,
And I have come to
tell you, for you are greatly beloved.
Therefore consider
the matter and understand the vision.
24 Seventy
weeks [of years, or four hundred and ninety years]
Are decreed upon
your people and upon your holy city Jerusalem,
To finish and put an
end to transgression,
To seal up and make
full the measure of sin,
To purge away and
make expiation and reconciliation for sin,
And to bring in
everlasting righteousness
[Permanent spiritual
and moral rectitude in every area and relation]
And to seal up
vision and prophecy and prophet, and to anoint a holy of holies.
[Daniel foretold that
it would be 490 years until the Messiah.
Would finish and put an
end to transgression;
He would purge away and
make expiation and reconciliation for sin,
By His own shed blood,
For those who would put
their faith, hope and trust in Him, the Christ of God;
The measure of sin was
sealed up and made full for Israel and all mankind
When they crucified the
Christ of God;
It was the sins of all
mankind, past, present and future that crucified Christ Jesus.
Those who would receive
Christ Jesus and put their faith, hope and trust in Him,
And allow Him to live
in and through them;
They would enter into
the everlasting righteousness of the Kingdom of God.
When Christ Jesus comes
the second time He will seal up vision and prophecy;
Finish and put an end
to transgression.
When He ascended into
Heaven he anointed the Mercy Seat in Heaven
With His own blood,
thereby anointing the Holy of Holies.]
26 And after
the sixty-two weeks [of years]
Shall the anointed
one be cut off or killed, and shall have nothing
25 Know
therefore and understand
That
from the going forth of the commandment to restore
And
to build Jerusalem Until [the coming of] the anointed one, a prince,
Shall be seven weeks [of years];
It
shall be built again with city square and moat, but in troublous
times.
[And no one
belonging] to [and defending] him.
And the people of
the other prince who shall come
Will destroy the
city and the sanctuary.
Its end shall come
with a flood,
And even to the end
there shall be war, and desolations are decreed.

1:8; Matt. 24:6-14.]
[Here Daniel speaks of
Christ Jesus who is cut off, killed after 434 years.
In 70 AD Jerusalem is
attacked and the temple is destroyed.
There have been wars
and desolations ever since.]
27 And he
shall enter into a strong and firm covenant with the many
For
one week [seven years];
And
in the midst of the week
He
shall cause the sacrifice and offering to cease
[For
the remaining three and one-half years];
And
upon the wing or pinnacle of abominations
(Shall
come) one who makes desolate;
Until the full
determined end is poured out on the desolator.
[For the last seven
years of “Time,”
Christ Jesus enters
into a strong covenant with His Bride,
The “Woman” of
Revelation 12.
For the first three and
one-half years She ministers in His fullness.
Then because of the
Rebellion/Apostasy, in God's Church
The Holy Spirit is
removed, the Antichrist is revealed,
At the same time, the
“Woman,” The Bride of Christ is taken into a desert place
And protected there for
three and one-half years.
Then the Antichrist
sets up his “image” in the church buildings of Christianity.
This is the abomination
that causes desolation,
The Antichrist forbids
the worship of God and God begins The Great Tribulation,
Which culminates in The
Battle of Armageddon
And the end of the
desolator, the Antichrist.]
(It is noteworthy that
Hitler placed his swastika
In every Christian
church building in Germany, defiling them all.
Hitler is a forerunner
of the Antichrist;
The Antichrist takes it
a step further with his “image”
And declaring himself
to be god).]
CHAPTER
11
[Beginning here at
verse 31
Daniel may be talking
about the Antiochus's desecration of the temple,
But also what will
happen at the revealing of the Antichrist
At The Time Of The
END.]
31 And armed
forces of his shall appear [in the holy land],
And they shall
pollute the sanctuary, the [spiritual] stronghold,
And shall take away
the continual [daily] burnt offering,
And they shall set
up [in the sanctuary] the abomination that astonishes
And makes desolate
[probably an idol-altar].
32 And such
as violate the covenant he shall pervert and seduce with flatteries;
But the people who
know their God shall prove themselves strong
And shall stand
firm, and do exploits [for God].
33 And they
who are wise and understand among the people
Shall instruct many
and make them understand,
Though some [of them
and their followers] shall fall by the sword
And by flame, by
captivity and plunder, for many days.
34 Now when
they fall, they shall receive a little help.
Many shall join
themselves to them with flatteries and hypocrisies.
35 And some
of those who are wise, prudent and understanding
Shall be weakened
and fall;
[Thus then the
insincere among the people will lose courage and become deserters.
It will be a test]
to refine, to purify and make those among [God's people] white,
Even to the time of the end;
Even to the time of the end;
Because it is yet
for the time [God] appointed.
36 And the
king shall do according to his will;
He shall exalt
himself and magnify himself above every god,
And shall speak
astonishing things against the God of gods,
And shall prosper
till the indignation be accomplished;
For that which is
determined [by God] shall be done.
37 He shall
not regard the gods of his fathers,
Or Him [to whom]
women desire [to give birth], or any other god,
For he shall magnify
himself above all.
38 But in
their place he shall honor the god of fortresses;
A god whom his
fathers knew not shall he honor with gold and silver,
And with precious
stones and pleasant and expensive things.
39 And he
shall deal with the strongest fortresses by help of a foreign god.
Those who
acknowledge him he shall magnify with glory and honor,
And he shall cause
them to rule over many, and shall divide the land for a price.
40 At that
time of the end the king of the south shall push at and attack
him,
And the king of the
north shall come against him like a whirlwind,
With chariots and
horsemen, and with many ships;
And he shall enter
into the countries and shall overflow and pass through.
41 He shall
enter into the glorious land [Palestine],
And many shall be
overthrown; but these shall be delivered out of his hand;
Edom, and Moab, and
the main [kernel] of the people of Ammon.
42 He shall
stretch out his hand also against the other countries,
But the land of
Egypt shall not be among the escaped ones.
43 But he
shall have power over the treasures of gold and of silver
And over all the
precious things of Egypt,
And the Libyans and
the Ethiopians shall accompany him
[Compelled to follow
his steps].
44 But rumors
from the east and from the north shall alarm and hasten him.
And he shall go
forth with great fury to destroy and utterly to sweep away many.
45 And he
shall pitch his palatial tents between the seas
And the glorious
holy mount [Zion];
Yet he shall come to
his end with none to help him.
[From verse 31–45, I
believe that Daniel is speaking
Not only of Antiochus's
invasion of Jerusalem, but of The Time Of The END.
31 Much of what
is foretold about each time period is similar.
The armed forces of the
Antichrist will appear in the Holy Land;
He will defile the
sanctuary of the Church of God;
He will take away all
worship of the God of Heaven;
He will set up in the
church buildings of Christianity his “image,”
Which is the
abomination that causes desolation.
(Again, it is
noteworthy that Hitler placed his swastika in every German Church.)
32 The wicked
followers of the Antichrist will corrupt with flattery
Those within the Church
of God who can be corrupted;
But those saints who
know their God
Shall be strong and
carry out great exploits against the Antichrist and his regime.
(Hitler, a forerunner
of the Antichrist
Also corrupted those
within the Christian Church who could be corrupted.)
33 Those of the
saints who understand who the Antichrist is and what he is doing,
Shall instruct many as to how this all pertains to Scripture;
Yet for many days they
shall fall by sword and flame, by captivity and plundering.
34 When the
“instructors” fall, they shall be aided with a little help;
But many shall pretend
to join them and actually be spies of the Antichrist.
35 Some of those
who understand shall fall, to refine them, purify them,
And make them white,
until The Time Of The END.
These will be leaders
within the Church of God.
36 The
Antichrist will do what ever he wishes;
He will exalt and
magnify himself above every god,
Shall speak blasphemies
against the God of Heaven;
Shall prosper till the
wrath has been accomplished;
Until The Great
Tribulation is concluded with the return of Christ Jesus
At The Battle Of
Armageddon, where he is finally defeated and killed.
37 The
Antichrist will have no regard for the God of his fathers
Nor the one desired by
women, but will magnify himself above all.
38 In the place
of God, the Antichrist will honor the god of fortress;
A god his fathers did
not know, with gold and silver, and with precious stones
And pleasant and
expensive things.
It seems to me that
this is a construction of his own making,
It could be the “image”
he sets up in the church buildings of Christianity.
39 The
Antichrist will overcome the strongest fortresses
With the help of a
foreign god (or fallen angel).
40 At the Time
Of The END, the king of the south, China, will attack him,
And at the same time
the king of the north, Russia, will attack him,
With a flood of men and
weapons.
This is the prelude to
The Battle Of Armageddon,
Where all the armies of
the world are gathered together against God and His Christ.
41 The
Antichrist will enter into the land of Palestine and overthrow many,
But not Edom and Moab
and Ammon.
42 The
Antichrist will conquer many countries including Egypt.
43 The
Antichrist will take the treasures of all the countries he conquers,
Including Libya and
Ethiopia.
44 Rumors from
the east and from the north shall alarm him
And he shall go forth
with great fury and sweep many away.
45 The
Antichrist will pitch his palatial tents between the seas
And the glorious holy
mount (Zion);
However he shall come
to his end with the coming of Christ Jesus
And none will help
him.]
CHAPTER
12
And at the time [of
the end] Michael shall arise,
The great [angelic]
prince who defends and has charge of your [Daniel's] people.
And there shall be a
time of trouble, straitness and distress,
Such as never was
since there was a nation till that time.
But
at that time your people shall be delivered,
Every
one whose name shall be found written in the book
[Of
God's plan for His own].
[From the content of
verse one, and the subsequent verses,
We know, certainly,
that Daniel is speaking of The Time Of The END.]
2 And many
of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake,
Some
to everlasting life
And
some to shame and everlasting contempt and abhorrence.
3 And the
teachers and those who are wise
Shall
shine like the brightness of the firmament;
And
those who turn many to righteousness—
To
uprightness and right standing with God [shall give forth light]
Like
the stars for ever and ever. [Matt. 13:43.]
4 But you, O
Daniel, shut up the words and seal the book
Until
the time of the end.
[Then
many shall run to and from and search anxiously [through the Book],
And
knowledge [of God's purposes as revealed by His prophets]
Shall
be increased and become great. [Cf. Amos 8:12.]
[As The Great
Tribulation commences,
Many shall open their
Bibles as they see events transpiring that are foretold in it.
Those who thought that
the Book of Revelation was just an allegory
Will understand that it
is not,
And seek to understand
all that is occurring.
At the same time many
will understand before The Great Tribulation commences,
What is about to happen
and warn God's people.]
5 Then I,
Daniel, looked, and behold, there stood two others,
The one on the brink
of the river on this side,
And the other on the
brink of the river on that side.
6 And one
said to the man clothed in linen,
How
long shall it be to the end of these wonders?
7 And I heard
the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river,
When he held up his
right and his left hand toward the heavens
And
swore by Him Who lives for ever
That
it shall be for time, times, and a half [Or three and one-half
years];
And
when they have made an end of shattering and crushing
The
power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished.
[When the power of
God's people has been shattered and crushed,
Christ Jesus will
appear in the clouds at The Battle of Armageddon,
Defeat the Antichrist
and the worlds armies and put an end to “Time.” ]
8 And I
heard, but I did not understand.
Then I said, O my
lord, what shall be the issue and final end of these things?
9 And he,
[the angel,] said, Go your way, Daniel;
For the words are
shut up and sealed till the time of the end.
10 Many
shall purify themselves,
And
make themselves white, and be tried, smelted and refined;
But the wicked shall
do wickedly.
And none of the
wicked shall understand,
But the teachers and
those who are wise shall understand.
11
And from the time that the continual burnt offering is taken away,
And
the abomination that makes desolate is set up,
There
shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days. [Dan. 11:31.]
12 Blessed,
happy, fortunate, spiritually prosperous and to be envied
Is
he who waits expectantly and earnestly--
Who
endures without wavering beyond the period of tribulation--
And
comes to the thousand three hundred and thirty-five days!
[It is this precision
of God
That makes me believe
that “Time” is also a precise measurement;
That God has allowed a
certain amount of “Time,” no more no less.
We know that the
Millennium is a thousand years,
A time of rest from the
period of sin that preceded it.
It is perfectly logical
that six thousand years would precede it;
Just as God created the
world in six days and rested on the seventh;
It is noteworthy that
there are those
Who are blessed, happy,
fortunate, spiritually prosperous and to be envied,
Who wait expectantly
and earnestly--
Who endure without
wavering beyond the period of the Tribulation.
In my mind this is
the”Woman” of Revelation 12
Who is protected by God
in the desert, as they would be the only saints still living.]
13 But you,
[Daniel who was now over ninety years of age],
Go your way until
the end, for you shall rest,
And shall stand
[fast] in your allotted place at the end of the days. [Heb.
11:32-40.]

CHAPTER
7
Daniel's
Dream Of Four Beasts
In the first year of
Belshazzar king of Babylon
Daniel had a dream
and visions of his head as he lay upon his bed.
Then he wrote down
the dream and told the gist of the matter.
2 Daniel
said, I saw in my vision by night,
And behold, the four
winds of the heavens [political and social agitations]
Were stirring up the
great sea [the nations of the world]
[These four winds of
the heavens are apparently four demonic spirits
That stir up
politically and socially the nations of the world.
These same entities
have been continually at work in the world
And are at work at the
present time.]
3 And four
great beasts came up out of the sea in succession
And different from
one another.
4 The first
[the Babylonian empire under Nebuchadnezzar] was like a lion,
And had eagle's
wings.
I beheld till the
wings of it were plucked, and it was lifted up from the earth,
And made to stand
upon two feet as a man, and a man's heart was given to it.
[Dan. 2:37, 38]
5 And behold
another beast, a second one [the Media-Persia empire],
Was like a bear, and
it raised up itself on one side [or one dominion],
And three ribs were
in its mouth between its teeth, and it was told,
Arise, devour much
flesh.
6 After this
I beheld, and lo, another the Grecian Empire of Alexander the Great,
Like a leopard,
which had four wings of a bird on its back.
The beast had also
four heads [Alexander's generals, his successors],
And dominion was
given to it [Cf. Dan. 2:39; 8:20-22]
7 After this
I saw in the night visions, and behold, a fourth beast,
Terrible, powerful
and dreadful, and exceedingly strong;
And it had great
iron teeth; it devoured and crushed,
And trampled what
was left with its feet.
And
it was different from all the beasts that came before it,
And it had ten
horns [Symbolizing ten kings]. Dan. 2:40-43; 7:23.]
8 I
considered the horns, and behold,
There
came up among them another horn, a little one,
Before
which three of the first horns were plucked up by the roots;
And
behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of a man,
And a mouth
speaking great things.
[The fourth beast is
the Roman Empire.
The little horn could
be the United States of America
And the three first
horns that were plucked up by it, England, France and Spain.]
9 I kept
looking until thrones were placed [for the assessors with the Judge],
And the ancient of
days [God, the eternal Father] took his seat,
Whose hair of His
head like pure wool;
His throne was like
the fiery flame, its wheels were burning fire.
[Rev.20:4; cf. Matt.
19:28; 1 Kings 22:19; Dan. 7:13, 22; cf. Ps. 90:2;
Ezek. 1:26-28.]
10 A stream
of fire came forth from before Him;
A thousand thousands
ministered to Him,
And then thousand
times ten thousand rose up and stood before Him;
The Judge was
seated—the court was in session—and the books were opened.
11 I
looked then because of the sound
Of
the great words which the horn was speaking.
I
watched until the beast was slain and its body destroyed
And
given over to be burned with fire.

the rest of the beasts, their power of dominion was taken away,
Yet their lives were
prolonged [for the duration of their lives was fixed]

13 I saw in
the night visions, and behold, on the clouds of the heavens
Came One like a Son
of man,
And He came to the
Ancient of days and was presented before Him.
[Christ Jesus is
presented before the Father.]
14 And there
was given Him, [the Messiah,] dominion and glory and kingdom,
That all peoples,
nations and languages should serve Him.
His dominion is an
everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away,
And His kingdom one
which shall not be destroyed. [Rev. 5:1-10.]
15 As for me,
Daniel, my spirit was grieved and anxious within me,
And the visions of
my head alarmed and agitated me.
16 I came
near to one of those who stood there and asked him the truth of all
this.
So he told me, and
made known to me the interpretation of the things.
17 These four
great beasts are four kings who shall arise out of the earth.
18 But the
saints of the Most High [God] shall receive the kingdom,
And possess the
kingdom for ever, even for ever and ever.
[Rom. 8:17; 1 Pet.
2:9; Rev. 3:21.]
19 Then I
wished to know the truth about the fourth beast,
Which was different
from all the others, exceedingly terrible and shocking,
Whose teeth were of
iron and its nails of bronze;
Which devoured,
broke and crushed, and trampled what was left with its feet;
20 And
concerning the ten horns [representing kings] that were on its head,
And
the other horn which came up later
And
before which three of the horns fell,
The
horn which had eyes and a mouth that spoke great things,
And
which looked greater than the others.
21 As I
looked, this horn made war with the saints and
prevailed over them,
[Rev. 13:7-9.]
[This horn is the
Antichrist who makes war against the saints
As foretold in the Book
of Revelation.
This means that the
Antichrist comes from the “little horn,”
Which is most likely
the USA.]
22 Until the
Ancient of days came,
And judgment was
given to the saints of the Most High [God],
And the time came
when the saints possessed the kingdom.
23 Thus [the
angel] said, The fourth beast shall be a fourth kingdom on earth,
Which shall be
different from all other kingdoms,
And shall devour the
whole earth, tread it down and break it in pieces and crush it.
24 And as
for the ten horns, out of this kingdom ten kings shall arise;
And
another shall arise after them,
And
he shall be different from the former ones,
And
he shall subdue and put down three kings.
[The fourth beast would
be the Roman Empire,
And out of the Roman
Empire come the ten horns, the European nations,
And out of European
nations comes the USA,
Who puts down England,
France and Spain]
25 And he
shall speak words against the Most High [God],
And
shall wear out the saints of the Most High,
And
think to change the times [of sacred feasts and holy days] and the
law;
And
the saints shall be given into his hand
For
a time, two times and half a time [Three and one-half years].
[Rev. 13:1-6]
[This little horn, the
Antichrist, will speak against the Most High God,
And think to change the
times of sacred feasts and holy days and the law.
And will wear out the
saints of the Most High.
(Which is something
that happens, once the Antichrist is revealed.)
And the saints are
given into his (the Antichrist's) hand
For three and one-half
years.]
26 But the
judgment shall be set [by the court of the Most High],
And they shall take
away his dominion, to consume it [gradually]
And to destroy it
[suddenly] in the end.
[The kingdom of the
Antichrist is consumed
Over the three and
one-half years of The Great Tribulation
At The Battle of
Armageddon, the Antichrist is killed, and his dominion destroyed.]
27 And the
kingdom and the dominion
And the greatness of
the kingdom under the whole heavens
Shall be given to
the people of the saints of the Most High;
His kingdom is an
everlasting kingdom,
And all the
dominions shall serve and obey Him.
[In the END The
saints of the Most High shall inherit His Kingdom.]
28 Here is the end
of the matter.
As for me, Daniel,
my waking thoughts troubled and alarmed me much,
And my cheerfulness
of countenance was changed in me;
But I kept the
matter [of the interpreting angel's information] in my heart and
mind.
CHAPTER
8
In the third year of
the reign of King Belshazzar
A vision appeared to
me , to me Daniel,
After the one that
appeared to me at the first.
2 And I saw
in the vision,
And it seemed that I
was at Shushan the palace or fortress
[In Susa, the
capital of Persia], which is in the province of Elam,
And I saw in the
vision and I was by the river of Ulai.
3 And I
lifted up my eyes and saw and behold,
There stood before
the river a single ram which had two horns
[Representing two
kings of Media-Persia, Darius the Mede, then Cyrus];
And the two horns
were high, but one [Persia] was higher than the other,
And the higher one
came up last.
4 I looked
and saw the ram [Medo-Persia]
Pushing and charging
westward and northward and southward;
No beast could stand
before him, neither could any one rescue from his power,
But he did according
to his own will and pleasure, and magnified himself.
[Verse 30.]
5 As I was
considering, behold, a he-goat [the king of Greece] came from the
west
Across the face of
the whole earth, without touching the ground,
And the goat had a
conspicuous and remarkable horn between his eyes
[Symbolizing
Alexander the Great]. [verse 21.]
6 And he came
to the ram that had the two horns,
Which I had seen
standing on the bank of the river,
And ran at him in
the heat of his power.
7 [In my
vision] I saw him come close to the ram [the Medo-Persian Empire],
And he was moved
with anger against him,
And he [Alexander]
struck the ram and broke his two horns;
And there was no
power in the ram to stand before him,
But the goat threw
him to the ground and trampled on him.
And there was no one
who could rescue the ram [Medo-Persia] from his power.
8 And the
he-goat [Alexander the Great] magnified himself exceedingly,
And when he was
[young and] strong he, the great horn, was [suddenly] broken,
And instead of him
there came up four notable horns
[To whom the kingdom
was divided, one]
Toward each of the
four winds of the heavens.
9 Out from
littleness and small beginnings one of them came forth
[Antiochus
Epiphanes], a horn whose [impious presumption and pride]
Grew exceedingly
great toward the south and toward the east
And toward the
ornament—the precious, blessed land of Israel. [Verse 23.]
10 And [in my
vision] this horn grew great, even against the host of heaven
[God's true people,
the saints], and some of the host and of the stars [priests]
It cast down to the
ground and trampled on them.
[This horn foreshadows
the final “little horn,” the Antichrist of Revelation,
And the
Rebellion/Apostasy that precedes his appearance,
We can expect some of
the host (people of God) and of the stars (Leaders)
To be cast down to the
ground and trampled on.]
11 Yes, [this
horn] magnified itself,
Even [matching
itself] against the Prince of the host [of heaven];
And from Him the
continual burnt offering was taken away,
And the place of
God's sanctuary was cast down and profaned.
[The Antichrist of
Revelation matches himself against Christ Jesus
And because of the
Rebellion/Apostasy in the Church of God
That precedes his
appearance,
He is allowed to take
away worship of God
And
the place of God's sanctuary is cast down and profaned.]
12 And the
host [the chosen people] and strength were given to [the wicked horn]
Together with the
continual burnt offering,
Because of the
transgression [of God's people]--
Their abounding
irreverence, ungodliness and lack of piety.
And righteousness
and truth were cast down to the ground,
And [the wicked
horn] accomplished this [by divine permission] and prospered.
[The host, the people
of God and their strength
Are given into the
hands of the Antichrist
Because of their
transgression against God,
Their irreverence,
ungodliness and lack of piety.
The Antichrist is given
this power by divine permission and for a time he prospers.]
13 Then I
heard a holy one speaking,
And another holy one
said to the one that spoke,
For how long is the
vision concerning the continual offering,
The transgression
that makes desolate,
And the giving over
of both the sanctuary and the host [of the people]
To be trampled under
foot? [Luke 21:24.]
14 And he
said to him and to me,
For two thousand and
three hundred evenings and mornings;
Then the sanctuary
shall be cleansed and restored.
[For three and one-half
years the worship of God is forbidden;
The three and one-half
years of The Great Tribulation.
And the people of God
are trampled under foot.
However, at the end of
the three and one-half years
The sanctuary is
cleansed and restored.
From verse 9 on, Daniel
may well be speaking of the USA and the Antichrist.
The USA was born out of
small beginnings;
It has grown great in
its influence in the Middle East, in and around Israel.
Ungodliness in the USA
is very great
And as a nation has
been continually
And increasingly
against the Christian faith and its precepts.
The stress of this
assault on Christianity may well cause some of its leaders to fall
And to be trampled
upon.
Additionally the
Christian faith today is marked by transgression against God,
Irreverence,
ungodliness and lack of piety.
When the Antichrist is
revealed and the Holy Spirit removed
The Antichrist sets up
his “image” in the church buildings of Christianity
And puts and end to the
worship of Christ Jesus.
This casts down and
profanes all that Christ Jesus stands for.
However, at the end of
the three and one-half years,
When the last of the
saints to be killed are killed,
The sanctuary of God is
cleansed and restored.]
15 When I,
even I, Daniel, had seen the vision, I sought to understand it;
Then behold, there
stood before me one [Gabriel] with the appearance of a man.
16 And I
heard a man's voice between the banks of the river Ulai,
Which called and
said, Gabriel, make this man [Daniel] understand the vision.
[Dan. 9:21; Luke
1:19, 26.]
17 So he came
near where I stood,
And when he came, I
was frightened and fell on my face.
But he said to me,
Understand, O son of man;
For the [fulfillment
of the ] vision belongs to [events that shall occur in]
The
time of the end.
18 Now as he
[Gabriel] was speaking with me,
I fell stunned and
in deep unconsciousness with my face to the ground;
But he touched me
and set me upright—where I had stood.
19 And he
said, Behold, I will make you know what shall be in the latter time
Of the indignation
[of God upon the ungodly];
For it has to do
with the time of the end.
20 The ram
you saw having two horns, they are the kings of Media and Persia.
21 And the
shaggy and rough he-goat is the king of Grecia;
and the great horn
between his eyes is the first king
[Who consolidated
the whole realm, Alexander the great].
22 And as for
the horn which was shattered, in whose place four others arose,
Four kingdoms shall
arise out of his nation,
But not having
his[Alexander's] power.
23 And at
the latter end of their kingdom,
When
the transgressors [the apostate Jews] have reached the fullness
[Of
their wickedness, exceeding the limits of God's mercy],
A
king of fierce countenance
And
understanding dark trickery and craftiness, shall stand up.
24 And his
power shall be mighty, but not by his own power;
And
he shall corrupt and destroy astonishingly,
And
shall prosper, and do his own pleasure,
And
he shall corrupt and destroy the mighty men and the holy people—
The people of the
saints. [Rev. 13:4-10; Dan. 8:9-12, 2 Thess. 2:3-10.]
25 And
through his policy he shall cause trickery to prosper in his hand;
He
shall magnify himself in his heart and mind,
And
in their security he will corrupt and destroy many.
He
shall also stand up against the Prince of princes,
But he shall be
broken and that by no [human] hand. [Rev.
19:19, 20.]
[Beginning in verse 23,
through verse 25,
I believe Daniel is
speaking of The Time Of The End.
The king of fierce
countenance and understanding dark trickery and craftiness,
Is the Antichrist, who
comes to power by the power of the devil.
He corrupts and
destroys mighty men and the saints of God.
He stands against
Christ Jesus
But is brought to an
end at The Battle Of Armageddon.]
26 The vision
of the evenings and the mornings which has been told you is true.
But seal up the
vision, for it has to do with and belongs to the now distant future.
27 And I,
Daniel, fainted and was sick certain days;
Afterward I rose up
and did the king's business;
And I wondered at
the vision,
But there was no one
who understood it or could make it understood.
CHAPTER
9
In the first year of
Darius the son of Ahasuerus, of the offspring of the Medes,
Who was made king
over the realm of the Chaldeans,
2 In the
first year of his reign,
I, Daniel,
understood from the books the number of years,
Which according to
the word of the Lord to Jeremiah the prophet
Must pass by before
the desolations which had been pronounced on Jerusalem Should end,
and it was seventy years. [Jer. 25:11, 12; 29:10]
3 And I,
Daniel, set my face to the Lord God
To seek Him by
prayer and supplications, with fasting and sackcloth and ashes;
4 And I
prayed to the Lord my God and made confession, and said, O Lord,
The great and
dreadful God, Who keeps covenant, mercy and loving-kindness
With those who love
Him and keep His commandments,
5 We have
sinned and dealt perversely and done wickedly and have rebelled ,
Turning aside from Your commandments and ordinances.
6 Neither
have we listened to and heeded Your servants the prophets,
Who spoke in Your
name to our kings, our princes, and our fathers,
And to all the
people of the land.
7 O Lord,
righteousness belongs to You, but to us confusion and shame of face,
As at this day; to
the men of Judah, to the inhabitants of Jerusalem,
And to all Israel,
those who are near and those who are far off,
Through all the
countries You have driven them
Because of the
(treacherous) trespass which they have committed against You.
8 O Lord, to
us belong confusion and shame of face, to our kings, to our princes,
And to our fathers,
because we have sinned against You.
9 To the Lord
our God belong mercies and loving-kindnesses and forgiveness;
For we have rebelled
against Him,
10 And we
have not obeyed the voice of the Lord our God by walking in His laws,
Which He set before
us by His servants the prophets.
11 Yea, all
Israel have transgressed your law,
Even turning aside
that they might not obey Your voice.
Therefore
the curse has been poured out on us,
And the oath that is
written in the law of Moses the servant of God,
Because we have
sinned against Him. [Lev. 26:14-45; Deut. 28:15-68.]
[I believe that the USA
(as well as all the nations of the world)
Are currently under a
curse from God
And have been for some
time.
Because of
transgressions against God.
What is the curse? He
simply withdraws His protection
And leaves a nation to
the wiles of the evil one.
He made the USA great
and the nation has denied this fact
And have refused to
give Him the glory.
In fact they have come
against Him and His precepts.]
12 And He has
carried out intact His threatening words,
Which He threatened
against us and against our judges—
The kings, princes
and rulers generally—who ruled us,
And
He has brought upon us a great evil;
For under the whole
heavens there has not been done before [anything so dreadful]
As He has caused to
be done against Jerusalem.
[No nation can insult
God to His face and not be afflicted with great evil.
Especially one that He
has made great by covenant.]
13 Just as it
is written in the law of Moses as to all this evil
[That would surely
come upon transgressors], so it has come upon us.
Yet
we have not earnestly begged for forgiveness
And
entreated the favor of the Lord our God,
That
we might turn from our iniquities, and have understanding
And
become wise in Your truth.
14 Therefore
the Lord has kept ready the (evil) calamity
And
has brought it upon us,
For
the Lord our God is [uncompromisingly] righteous
And
rigidly just in all His works which He does [keeping His word],
And
we have not obeyed His voice.
15 And now, O
Lord our God,
Who brought Your
people forth out of the land of Egypt with a mighty hand,
And have secured
Yourself renown and a name as at this day,
We
have sinned, we have done wickedly!
16 O Lord,
according to all Your rightness and justice,
I beseech You, let
Your anger and Your wrath
Be turned away from
Your city Jerusalem, your holy mountain.
Because for our
sins, and for the iniquities of our fathers,
Jerusalem and Your
people have become a reproach
And a byword to all
who are around about us.
17 Now
therefore, O our God, listen to and heed the prayer of your servant
Daniel And his supplications,
And for Your own
sake cause Your face to shine upon Your sanctuary,
Which is desolate.
[But see Ezek. 14:12-20.]
18 O my God,
incline Your ear and hear;
Open Your eyes and
look at our desolations,
And the city which
is called by Your name;
For we do not
present our supplications before You
For our own
righteousness and justice,
But for Your great
mercies and loving-kindnesses.
19 O Lord,
hear! O Lord, forgive! O Lord, give heed and act!
Do not delay, for
Your own sake,
O my God, because
Your city and Your people are called by your name.
20 While I
was speaking and praying,
Confessing my sin
and the sin of my people Israel,
And presenting my
supplication before the Lord my God for the holy hill of my God;
21 Yes, while
I was speaking in prayer, the man Gabriel,
Whom I had seen in
the former vision,
Being caused to fly
swiftly, came near to me and touched me
About the time of
the evening sacrifice. [Dan. 8:16.]
22 He
instructed me and made me understand; he talked with me and said,
O Daniel, I am now
come forth to give you skill and wisdom and understanding.
23 At the
beginning of your prayers the word went forth,
And I have come to
tell you, for you are greatly beloved.
Therefore consider
the matter and understand the vision.
24 Seventy
weeks [of years, or four hundred and ninety years]
Are decreed upon
your people and upon your holy city Jerusalem,
To finish and put an
end to transgression,
To seal up and make
full the measure of sin,
To purge away and
make expiation and reconciliation for sin,
And to bring in
everlasting righteousness
[Permanent spiritual
and moral rectitude in every area and relation]
And to seal up
vision and prophecy and prophet, and to anoint a holy of holies.
[Daniel foretold that
it would be 490 years until the Messiah.
Would finish and put an
end to transgression;
He would purge away and
make expiation and reconciliation for sin,
By His own shed blood,
For those who would put
their faith, hope and trust in Him, the Christ of God;
The measure of sin was
sealed up and made full for Israel and all mankind
When they crucified the
Christ of God;
It was the sins of all
mankind, past, present and future that crucified Christ Jesus.
Those who would receive
Christ Jesus and put their faith, hope and trust in Him,
And allow Him to live
in and through them;
They would enter into
the everlasting righteousness of the Kingdom of God.
When Christ Jesus comes
the second time He will seal up vision and prophecy;
When He ascended into
Heaven he anointed the Mercy Seat in Heaven
With His own blood,
thereby anointing the Holy of Holies.]
25 Know
therefore and understand
That
from the going forth of the commandment to restore
And
to build Jerusalem Until [the coming of] the anointed one, a prince,
Shall be seven weeks [of years];
It
shall be built again with city square and moat, but in troublous
times.
26 And after
the sixty-two weeks [of years]
Shall the Anointed
One be cut off or killed, and shall have nothing
[And no one
belonging] to [and defending] Him.
And the people of
the other prince who shall come
Will destroy the
city and the sanctuary.
Its end shall come
with a flood,
And even to the end
there shall be war, and desolations are decreed.
[Isa.53:7-9; Nah.
1:8; Matt. 24:6-14.]
[Here Daniel speaks of
Christ Jesus who is cut off, killed.
In 70 AD the Romans
attack Jerusalem and the temple is destroyed.
There have been wars
and desolations ever since.]
27 And He
(the Anointed One)
shall enter into a strong and firm covenant With the many for one
week [seven years];
And
in the midst of the week
He
shall cause the sacrifice and offering to cease
[For
the remaining three and one-half years];
And
upon the wing or pinnacle of abominations
(Shall
come) one (the
Antichrist) who makes desolate;
Until
the full determined end is poured out on the desolator
(the
Antichrist).
[For the last seven
years of “Time,”
The Anointed One,
Christ Jesus, enters into a strong covenant with His Bride,
The “Woman” of
Revelation 12.
For the first three and
one-half years She ministers in His fullness.
Then because of the
Rebellion/Apostasy, in God's Church
The Holy Spirit is
removed, and the Antichrist is revealed;
At the same time, the
“Woman,” The Bride of Christ is taken into a desert place
And protected there for
three and one-half years.
Then the Antichrist
sets up his “image” in the church buildings of Christianity.
This is the abomination
that causes desolation,
The Antichrist forbids
the worship of God and God begins The Great Tribulation,
Which culminates in The
Battle of Armageddon
And the end of the
desolator, the Antichrist.]
CHAPTER
10
In the third year of
Cyrus king of Persia a word was revealed to Daniel,
Who was called
Belteshazzar.
And the word was
true and it referred to great tribulation,
Conflict [and
wretchedness].
And he understood
the word and had understanding of the vision.
[Dan 8:26; Rev.
19:9]
2 In those
days I, Daniel, was mourning for three whole weeks.
3 I ate no
pleasant or desirable food, nor did any meat or wine come into my
mouth, And I did not anoint myself at all, for the full three weeks.
4 On the
twenty-fourth day of the first month,
As I was on the bank
of the great river Hiddekel, which is the Tigris,
5 I lifted up
my eyes and looked, and behold, a man clothed in linen,
Whose loins were
girded with pure gold of Uphaz.
6 His body
also was [a golden lustre] like beryl,
His face had the
appearance of lightning, his eyes were like flaming torches,
His arms and his
feet like glowing burnished bronze,
And the sound of his
words was like the roaring of the sea
Or the noise of a
multitude of people.
[This is the same
person, Christ Jesus, in His glorified state
That
John sees in the Book of Revelation.]
7 And I,
Daniel, alone saw the vision [of this heavenly being],
For the men that
were with me did not see the vision,
But a great
trembling fell upon them, so that they fled to hide themselves.
8 So I was
left alone and saw this great vision, and no strength was left in me;
For my fresh
appearance was turned to pallor; I grew weak and faint with fright.
9 Then I
heard the sound of his words; and when I heard the sound of his words
I fell on my face in
a deep sleep, with my face sunk to the ground.
10 And
behold, a hand touched me, which set me (unsteadily) upon my knees
And upon the palms
of my hands.
11 And the
angel said to me, O Daniel, you greatly beloved man,
Understand the words
that I speak to you, and stand upright,
For to you I am now
sent. And while he was saying this word to me,
I stood up
trembling.
12 Then he
said to me, Fear not, Daniel,
For from the first
day that you set your mind and heart to understand
And to humble
yourself before your God,
Your words were
heard and I have come in consequence of your words.
13 But the
prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me for twenty-one days.
But Michael, one of
the chief of the celestial princes, came to help me;
And I remained [was
not needed] there with the kings of Persia.
14 Now I have
come to make you understand
What is to befall
your people in the latter days.
For the vision is
for many days yet to come.
15 When he
had spoken to me according to these words,
I turned my face
toward the ground and was dumb.
16 And,
behold, one in the likeness of the sons of men touched my lips.
Then I opened my
mouth and spoke.
I said to him who
stood before me,
O my lord, by reason
of the vision sorrows and pains have come upon me,
And I retain no
strength.
17 For how
can my lord's servant [who am so feeble] talk with this my lord?
For now no strength
remains in me, nor is there any breath left in me.
18 Then there
touched me again one who's appearance was like that of a man,
And he strengthened
me.
19 And he
said, O man greatly beloved, fear not;
Peace be to you, be
strong, Yes be strong.
And when he had
spoken to me, I was strengthened
And said, Let my
lord speak, for you have strengthened me.
20 Then he
said, Do you know why I have come to you?
And now I will
return to fight with the [hostile] prince of Persia,
And when I have
gone, notice, the [hostile] prince of Greece will come.
21 But I will
tell you what is inscribed in the writing or book of truth.
There is not one who
holds with me and strengthens himself
Against these
[hostile spirit forces], except Michael,
Your [national
guardian angel] prince.
CHAPTER
11
Also I [the angel],
in the first year of Darius the Mede,
Even I, stood up to
confirm and to strengthen him [Michael, the angel].
2 And now I
will show you the truth.
Behold, there shall
arise three more kings in Persia,
And a fourth shall
be far richer than they all.
And when he has
become strong through his riches
He shall stir up and
stake all against the realm of Greece.
3 Then a
mighty [warlike, threatening] king shall arise,
Who shall rule with
great dominion and do according to his own will.
4 And as soon
as he has fully arisen,
His [Alexander's]
kingdom shall be broken by his death
And divided toward
[the east, west, north, and south]
The four winds of
the heavens, but not to his posterity,
Nor according to the
[Grecian] dominion which he ruled,
For his kingdom
shall be torn out and uprooted and go to others
[That is, to his
four generals] to the exclusion of these.
5 Then the
king of the south [Egypt] shall be strong,
But one of his
princes shall be stronger than he is and have dominion;
His dominion shall
be a great dominion.
6 At the end
of some years they [the king of the north, Syria,
And the king of the
sough, Egypt] shall make an alliance;
The daughter of the
king of the south shall come to the king of the north
To make [a just and
peaceful marriage] agreement;
But she shall not
retain the power of her might,
Neither shall he and
his might endure.
She shall be
surrendered with her attendants, her child,
And him who
strengthened her in those times.
7 But out of
a branch of the [same ancestral] roots as hers,
Shall one [her
brother] stand up in his place or office,
Who shall come
against the [Syrian] army
And shall enter into
the fortress of the king of the north,
And shall deal
against them and shall prevail.
8 And also he
shall carry off to Egypt [Syria's] gods with their molten images
And with their
precious vessels of silver and of gold;
And he shall refrain
for some years from [waging war against] the king of the north.
9 And he [the
king of Syria] shall come into the kingdom of the king of the south,
But shall return to
his own land.
10 But his
sons shall be stirred up and shall prepare for war,
And shall assemble a
multitude of great forces,
Which shall come on
and overflow and pass through,
And again shall make
war even to the fortress [of the southern king].
11 And the
king of the south [Egypt] shall be moved with anger,
And shall come forth
and fight with the king of the north [Syria];
And he, [the
Syrian,] shall set forth a great multitude,
But the multitude
shall be given into his, [the Egyptian's,] hand.
12 When the
multitude is taken and carried away,
The heart and mind
[of the Egyptian] shall be exalted,
And he shall cast
down tens of thousands, but he shall not prevail.
13 For the
king of the north shall raise a multitude greater than [he had]
before, And after some years shall certainly return,
Coming with a great
army and much substance and equipment.
14 In those
times many shall rise up against the king of the south [Egypt];
Also the men of
violence among your own people shall lift themselves up
In order to fulfill
the visions [of chapters eight and nine] but they shall fail and
fall.
15 Then the
king of the north shall come, and cast up siegeworks
And take a
well-fortified city, and the forces of the south shall not stand,
Or even his chosen
troops,
For there shall be
no strength to stand [against the Syrian].
16 But he
[Antiochus the Great] who comes against him [from Syria]
Shall do according
to his own will, and none shall stand before him;
He shall stand in
the glorious land [of Israel],
And his hand shall
be destruction and all the land shall be in his power.
17 He
[Antiochus the Great] shall set his face
To come with the
strength of his whole kingdom,
And with him upright
conditions and terms of peace,
And he shall perform
them [by making an agreement with the southern king].
He shall give him
his daughter to corrupt and destroy it [his league with Egypt]
And the kingdom; but
it shall not succeed or be to his advantage.
18 After this
he shall turn his attention to the islands and coastlands
And shall take over
many of them.
But a prince or
commander shall teach him [Antiochus]
To put an end to the
insults offered by him;
In fact he shall
turn his insolence and reproaches back upon him.
19 Then he
shall turn his face back toward the fortresses of his own land [of
Syria]; But he shall stumble and fall, and not be found.
20 Then shall
stand up in his place or office one who shall send an exactor of
tribute To pass through the glory of the kingdom;
But within a few
days he shall be destroyed, neither in anger nor in battle.
21 And in his
place or office [in Syria]
Shall arise a
contemptuous and contemptible person,
To whom royal
majesty and honor of the kingdom have not been given.
But he shall come in
without warning in time of security
And shall obtain the
kingdom by flatteries,
Intrigues and
cunning hypocritical conduct.
22 Before him
the overwhelming forces of invading armies shall be broken
And utterly swept
away; yes,
And a prince of the
covenant [with those who were at peace with him]
Also [shall be
broken and] swept away.
23 And from
the time that an alliance is make with him
He shall work
deceitfully, and he shall come up unexpectedly
And shall become
strong with a small people.
24 Without
warning and stealthily
He shall come into
the most productive places of a province
Or among the richest
men of a province [of Egypt],
And he shall do that
which his fathers have not done nor his father' fathers;
He shall distribute
among them plunder, spoil, and goods.
He shall devise
plans against strongholds,
But only for a time
[the period decreed by God].
25 And he
shall stir up his power and his courage
Against the king of
the south [Egypt] with a great army;
And the king of the
south shall wage war
With an exceedingly
great and mighty army; but he shall not stand,
For schemes shall be
devised against [the king of the south].
26 Yes, those
who eat of his rich and dainty food shall break and destroy him,
And his army shall
drift or turn away to flee, and many shall fall down slain.
27 And as for
both of these kings,
Their hearts and
minds shall be set on doing mischief;
They shall speak
lies over the same table, but it will not succeed;
For
the end is yet to be at the time appointed.
28 Then shall
[the vile northern conqueror] return into his land with much booty,
And his heart and purpose shall be set against [God's] holy covenant
[With His people],
and he shall accomplish [his malicious intention]
And return to his
own land [Syria].
29 At the
time appointed [God's own time] he shall return,
And come into the
south;
But it shall not be
successful as were the former invasions of Egypt.
30 For the
ships of Kittim [or Cyprus, in Roman hands] shall come against him;
Therefore he shall be grieved and discouraged and turn back [to
Palestine]
And carry out his
rage and indignation against the holy covenant and God's people; And
he shall do his own pleasure;
He shall even turn
back and make common cause with those Jews
Who abandon the holy
covenant [with God].
[Beginning here at
verse 31
Daniel may be talking
about the Antiochus's desecration of the temple,
But also what will
happen at the revealing of the Antichrist
At The Time Of The
END.]
31 And armed
forces of his shall appear [in the holy land],
And they shall
pollute the sanctuary, the [spiritual] stronghold,
And shall take away
the continual [daily] burnt offering,
And they shall set
up [in the sanctuary] the abomination that astonishes
And makes desolate
[probably an idol-altar].
32 And such
as violate the covenant he shall pervert and seduce with flatteries;
But the people who
know their God shall prove themselves strong
And shall stand
firm, and do exploits [for God].
33 And they
who are wise and understand among the people
Shall instruct many
and make them understand,
Though some [of them
and their followers] shall fall by the sword
And by flame, by
captivity and plunder, for many days.
34 Now when
they fall, they shall receive a little help.
Many shall join
themselves to them with flatteries and hypocrisies.
35 And some
of those who are wise, prudent and understanding
Shall be weakened
and fall;
[Thus then the
insincere among the people will lose courage and become deserters.
It will be a test]
to refine, to purify and make those among [God's people] white, Even
to the time of the end;
Because it is yet
for the time [God] appointed.
36 And the
king shall do according to his will;
He shall exalt
himself and magnify himself above every god,
And shall speak
astonishing things against the God of gods,
And shall prosper
till the indignation be accomplished;
For that which is
determined [by God] shall be done.
37 He shall
not regard the gods of his fathers,
Or Him [to whom]
women desire [to give birth], or any other god,
For he shall magnify
himself above all.
38 But in
their place he shall honor the god of fortresses;
A god whom his
fathers knew not shall he honor with gold and silver,
And with precious
stones and pleasant and expensive things.
39 And he
shall deal with the strongest fortresses by help of a foreign god.
Those who
acknowledge him he shall magnify with glory and honor,
And he shall cause
them to rule over many, and shall divide the land for a price.
40 At that
time of the end the king of the south shall push at and attack
him,
And the king of the
north shall come against him like a whirlwind,
With chariots and
horsemen, and with many ships;
And he shall enter
into the countries and shall overflow and pass through.
41 He shall
enter into the glorious land [Palestine],
And many shall be
overthrown; but these shall be delivered out of his hand;
Edom, and Moab, and
the main [kernel] of the people of Ammon.
42 He shall
stretch out his hand also against the other countries,
But the land of
Egypt shall not be among the escaped ones.
43 But he
shall have power over the treasures of gold and of silver
And over all the
precious things of Egypt,
And the Libyans and
the Ethiopians shall accompany him
[Compelled to follow
his steps].
44 But rumors
from the east and from the north shall alarm and hasten him.
And he shall go
forth with great fury to destroy and utterly to sweep away many.
45 And he
shall pitch his palatial tents between the seas
And the glorious
holy mount [Zion];
Yet he shall come to
his end with none to help him.
[From verse 31–45, I
believe that Daniel is speaking
Not only of Antiochus's
invasion of Jerusalem, but of The Time Of The END.
31 Much of what
is foretold about each time period is similar.
The Antichrist will
defile the sanctuary of the Church of God;
He will take away all
worship of the God of Heaven;
He will set up in the
Church buildings of Christianity his “image,”
Which is the
abomination that causes desolation.
(It is notable that
Hitler place his swastika in every German Church.)
32 The wicked
followers of the Antichrist will corrupt with flattery
Those within the Church
of God who can be corrupted;
But those saints who
know their God
Shall be strong and
carry out great exploits against the Antichrist and his regime.
33 Those of the
saints who understand who the Antichrist is and what he is doing,
Shall instruct many as to how this all pertains to Scripture;
Yet for many days they
shall fall by sword and flame, by captivity and plundering.
34 When the
“instructors” fall, they shall be aided with a little help;
But many shall pretend
to join them and actually be spies of the Antichrist.
35 Some of those
who understand shall fall, to refine them, purify them,
And make them white,
until The Time Of The END.
These will be leaders
within the Church of God.
36 The
Antichrist will do what ever he wishes;
He will exalt and
magnify himself above every god,
Shall speak blasphemies
against the God of Heaven;
Shall prosper till the
wrath has been accomplished;
Until The Great
Tribulation is concluded with the return of Christ Jesus
At The Battle Of
Armageddon, where he is finally defeated and killed.
37 The
Antichrist will have no regard for the God of his fathers
Nor the one desired by
women, but will magnify himself above all.
38 In the place
of God, the Antichrist will honor the god of fortress;
A god his fathers did
not know, with gold and silver, and with precious stones
And pleasant and
expensive things.
It seems to me that
this is a construction of his own making,
It could be the “image”
he sets up in the Church buildings of Christianity.
39 The
Antichrist will overcome the strongest fortresses
With the help of a
foreign god (or fallen angel).
40 At the Time
Of The END, the king of the south, China, will attack him,
And at the same time
the king of the north, Russia, will attack him,
With a flood of men and
weapons.
This is the prelude to
The Battle Of Armageddon,
Where all the armies of
the world are gathered together.
41 The
Antichrist will enter into the land of Palestine and overthrow many,
But not Edom and Moab
and Ammon.
42 The
Antichrist will conquer many countries including Egypt.
43 The
Antichrist will take the treasures of all the countries he conquers,
Including Libya and
Ethiopia.
44 Rumors from
the east and from the north shall alarm him
And he shall go forth
with great fury and sweep many away.
45 The
Antichrist will pitch his palatial tents between the seas
And the glorious holy
mount (Zion);
However he shall come
to his end with the coming of Christ Jesus
And none will help
him.]
CHAPTER
12
And at the time [of
the end] Michael shall arise,
The great [angelic]
prince who defends and has charge of your [Daniel's] people.
And there shall be a
time of trouble, straitness and distress,
Such as never was
since there was a nation till that time.
But
at that time your people shall be delivered,
Every
one whose name shall be found written in the book
[Of
God's plan for His own].
[From the content of
verse one, and the subsequent verses,
We know, certainly,
that Daniel is speaking of The Time Of The END.]
2 And many
of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake,
Some
to everlasting life
And
some to shame and everlasting contempt and abhorrence.
3 And the
teachers and those who are wise
Shall
shine like the brightness of the firmament;
And
those who turn many to righteousness—
To
uprightness and right standing with God [shall give forth light]
Like
the stars for ever and ever. [Matt. 13:43.]
4 But you, O
Daniel, shut up the words and seal the book
Until
the time of the end.
[Then
many shall run to and from and search anxiously [through the Book],
And
knowledge [of God's purposes as revealed by His prophets]
Shall
be increased and become great. [Cf. Amos 8:12.]
5 Then I,
Daniel, looked, and behold, there stood two others,
The one on the brink
of the river on this side,
And the other on the
brink of the river on that side.
6 And one
said to the man clothed in linen,
How
long shall it be to the end of these wonders?
7 And I heard
the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river,
When he held up his
right and his left hand toward the heavens
And
swore by Him Who lives for ever
That
it shall be for time, times, and a half [Or three and one-half
years];
And
when they have made an end of shattering and crushing
The
power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished.
[When the power of
God's people has been shattered and crushed,
Christ Jesus will
appear in the clouds at The Battle of Armageddon,
Defeat the Antichrist
and the worlds armies an put an end to “Time.”]
8 And I
heard, but I did not understand.
Then I said, O my
lord, what shall be the issue and final end of these things?
9 And he,
[the angel,] said, Go your way, Daniel;
For the words are
shut up and sealed till the time of the end.
10 Many
shall purify themselves,
And
make themselves white, and be tried, smelted and refined;
But the wicked shall
do wickedly.
And none of the
wicked shall understand,
But the teachers and
those who are wise shall understand.
11
And from the time that the continual burnt offering is taken away,
And
the abomination that makes desolate is set up,
There
shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days. [Dan. 11:31.]
12 Blessed,
happy, fortunate, spiritually prosperous and to be envied
Is
he who waits expectantly and earnestly--
Who
endures without wavering beyond the period of tribulation--
And
comes to the thousand three hundred and thirty-five days!
13 But you,
[Daniel who was now over ninety years of age],
Go your way until
the end, for you shall rest,
And shall stand
[fast] in your allotted place at the end of the days. [Heb.
11:32-40.]
